THE MISSION PROJECTS is excited to announce Memory Traces, an exhibition of recent work by Chilean artist Rodrigo Zamora. In his second solo show with the gallery, Zamora showcases paintings that center his interest in the human experience of being an observer, specifically within the context of our relationship to our surroundings. He utilizes methodical processes involving deconstruction and reconstruction to create fractured representations of often unnoticed subject matter — neglected weeds, cloudy waterways, and tree obstructed skies. Using a restrained color palette and grid-like structure, Zamora renders each painting dreamlike and indistinct, evoking notions of memory or reminiscence.
